Applied Brain Research Open License¶

License¶

The licensor grants You the rights to use the Licensed Elements, only for the permitted purpose described below, where “use” means any action including those which would otherwise infringe that contributor’s intellectual property rights, including without limitation copyright, patent rights, and trade secret rights, but excluding trademark, service mark, or publicity rights. You may not sublicense or transfer Your license to any other person or legal entity. The terms of this license do not imply any other licenses.

Permitted Purposes: Non-Commercial and Small Business¶

Subject to the terms and conditions of this license, You may only use the Licensed Materials for the following purposes: 1. Non-commercial research purposes. Non-commercial research purposes do not include use to develop commercial products or services. 2. Any purpose. If you have an annual income of less than one million US dollars. Annual income is measured by You and Your affiliates’ collective worldwide income for the fiscal year preceding Your use of Licensed Materials, in 2025 dollars. To the extent that You and Your affiliates annual worldwide income ever exceeds one million US dollar, Your use of Licensed Materials shall thereafter be limited to non-commercial research purposes as set forth above.

Notices¶

If You modify the Licensed Elements and provide them to others, You may apply terms of Your choice to Your own modifications; however, if You provide any of the Licensed Elements to others, You must inform the recipient that the Licensed Elements are available only under this license, either by providing a copy of this license, or a reference to https://www.appliedbrainresearch.com/license.

Termination¶

This license ends immediately and automatically if You violate any of its terms. If You claim in writing that any Licensed Element infringes or contributes to infringement of any patent, Your license ends immediately.

No Liability¶

As far as the law allows, each Licensed Element is provided as is, without any warranty or condition, and the licensor will not be liable to anyone for any damages related to any Licensed Element or this license, under any kind of legal claim. If the law applicable to You prohibits this limitation of liability, or disclaimer of warranty or condition, Your license will be null and void.

Definitions¶

“Licensed Elements” includes neural networks or any other type of machine learning model, deep learning model, artificial intelligence model, software, data, documentation, or other material that is designated as being available under this license, and any portion of any of them.

“You” or “Your” refers to the individual or legal entity exercising permissions granted by this License, including any legal entity, sole proprietorship, or other kind of organization for which uses the Licensed Elements, plus all of its affiliates, plus all organizations that have control over, are under the control of, or are under common control with that organization. Control means ownership of substantially all the assets of an organization, or the power to direct its management and policies by vote, contract, or otherwise. Control can be direct or indirect.
